What size file do I upload or send?
Send your files cropped to size at 180 ppi resolution. If you want the image to wrap around the stretcher frame, do not crop your image. If your file is smaller, we can resize it for you. Minimum file size may apply based on requested print size.
How will my image be painted?
Your image will be hand painted with a tablet and stylus using Corel Painter in whatever medium you like, watercolor, oil or pastel.
How do I decide what kind of painting to have done?
Subjects should be in solid colored clothing. Medium to high key (lighter) images are well suited for both watercolor and oil portraits. Low key (darker) to Medium key images are suitable for oil portraits.
Do I have to put my paintings behind glass?
The fine art papers should be matted and must go behind glass. The canvas does not go behind glass. Because it does not, a protective lacquer will be sprayed on the canvas.
What is a gallery wrap?
A gallery wrap is where the canvas wraps all the way around the stretcher frame with no visible staples on the sides. The canvas is stapled in the back. You may have a gallery wrap where the image wraps around or you can have solid color sides.
What is turn around time?
For painting artwork only, 1-2 weeks. Retouching only up to 1 week. For artwork and printing, 4-6 weeks.
Can I have fine art printing without having a painting done?
YES!
Can I have a painting done and have it printed elsewhere?
Yes, however, Art By Cheri cannot guarantee color or over all print quality of printed paintings when painted image files are printed elsewhere.
